KAI Alps is hot spring ryokan with a nostalgic atmosphere, located on a hot spring close to Hakuba, which was one of the venues of the 1998 Winter Olympic Games. It opened in 2012 as the 8th facility under the Hoshino Resorts KAI brand, and was then completely renovated and reopened in 2017. Omachi Onsen, where KAI Alps is located, is part of the snow country with high snowfall in the winter, guests will see the gangi covered arcades with sloping roofs going from the entrance to the guest rooms. In winter, kamakura, Japanese igloos, will be constructed from snow and guests can visit the internationally famous Hakuba Ski Resort from the ryokan.
