KAI Hakone is a hot spring ryokan which is located on the banks of a mountain stream just off the Hakone Kyukaido Highway. Ninety minutes from Tokyo. We are proud of our open-air baths from which guests can gaze upon the picturesque landscape that spreads before them and rooms that command a magnificent view of the river. The guest rooms incorporate Hakone parquetry, a traditional Japanese parquetry that has deep roots in Hakone. Every evening, we hold the Secrets of Hakone parquetry -KAI Cultural Discovery-,　which pays homage to the history of the shukubamachi once located in Hakone.
